More than 40 participants from Costa Rica, Cuba and Dominican Republic attended the 5th Training Workshop "Academic and non-academic support for students with disabilities during and after their studies" and Study Visit of the ACCESS Project from 27 to 29 June 2022. Delivered by the University of Macedonia (UoM), the workshop took place in Thessaloniki, Greece.

During the training workshop good practices for interviewing students with disabilities in an Accessibility Centre were shared, tools for overcoming barriers while studying, how to communicate effectively with students with disabilities, activities after graduation and how to support employment of people with disabilities were presented.

During the study visit participants learned about library services for students with visual impairment, the Accessibility Centre and good practices for organising events at UoM. Participants also had the opportunity to visit the hotel and campsite "Villa Sevasti", which develops accessible tourism for people with disabilities. On 30 June, the ACCESS consortium held its coordination meeting which focused on resolving questions and planning the next activities of the project.

ACCESS/“Promoting Accessibility of Students with Disability to Higher Education in Cuba, Costa Rica and Dominican Republic” is an Erasmus+ Key Action 2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices: Capacity-building in higher education, co-funded by the European Commission. The overall objective of the ACCESS project is to improve accessibility, ensure learning conditions and foster policy change towards inclusion for students with disabilities within the context of the Higher Education system in Costa Rica, Cuba and Dominican Republic via modern inclusion practices, training and networking.
